As a matter of fact, aging can affect the ability of the seniors to move safely around their home, as well as their community. For this reason, walkers play an important role in easing their movement. However, walkers for the elderly are available in different styles, where some have wheels and others do not have wheels. Since they are designed for different and specific purposes, you may consider a Walker with big wheels for excellent mobility.

Normally, seniors can suffer a decrease in strength, vision, balance, and so on hence affecting their ability to safely walk. However, because the extent of assistance, as well as the required support, will vary given the various types of walkers will be needed by the seniors. Hemi-walkers, for instance, are designed to suit the needs of seniors with full or partial paralysis on one side. Such walkers are used by only one hand. They are commonly used by aged persons who have suffered stroke to one side of the body as well as those who had surgeries or fractures on an arm, wrist, shoulder, or collarbone.

Another type of walker is the folding walkers. These are usually the simplest walkers the elderly can use. They usually have two handles, four legs without wheels. At the same time, the height is usually adjustable and can be folded in half. These types of walkers are usually ideal for elderly who need to put more weight on the walker such as those who cannot put so much weight on one or both legs since they had a knee surgery or a hip replacement.

The other type is front wheel walkers that are as well termed as two-wheel walkers. Such walkers that are meant for the aged are alike other typical walkers only that they have skids on their hind legs and wheels on their front legs. The will, therefore, slide easily.

The two-wheeled walkers take after the other types of foldable walkers hence can be folded into half. They as well remain perfect for individuals who want to shift more weight to the walkers. Additionally, they are light, easily transported and can easy be slid on floors. They are, however, unideal for individuals who want to put more weight on their walkers.

Rollator walkers are another type of walkers also known as four wheel walkers. They have 4 wheels, brakes, a basket, and a seat. Again, they are ideal for both indoor and outdoor, especially the ones with big wheels that can easily roll on carpet or uneven ground.

The rollators are usually ideal for the seniors who want a walker for balance purposes. This type is also beneficial for the elderly who want a seat to rest, carry some items, and who need security when walking since you can hold on them.

The other kind is the 3-wheel walker that is like the rollator but with a one wheel less and no seat. They as well are stable to be used both outdoors and indoor but are not much stable as the rollators because of having a less wheel. They are normally suitable for older persons who are strong, able to balance, and can endure but may not need extra stability given by other kinds of walkers such as rollators.
